Aimex Foods Inc. ("Aimex Foods", "we") is a meat importer and wholesale distributor based in Calgary, Alberta. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to reach us about it. It applies to visitors from anywhere, including Quebec.

Who is responsible

Aimex Foods Inc. is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. For any question or request about your information, write to us at the address at the end of this page or call us at the number shown there.

What we collect

We only collect what you send us and what your browser sends with it:

• When you request a quote: your name, company, email address, phone number, province, type of business and the products you are interested in, and, if you add them, the certification, volume and message.
• With each request, automatically: your IP address, the country and network that address is registered to, a description of your browser (its "user agent"), the page you came from, and any campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source).
• When you browse: our web server records IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
• When you leave a page: your browser sends how fast that page loaded and responded on your device, with whether it is a phone and the type of connection. We keep these measurements without your IP address or anything else that identifies you, to find and fix slow pages.

Why we use it

We use your information to answer your request and follow up on it, to keep automated spam out of our inbox, and to see which of our campaigns bring requests. We don't use it for anything else without asking you, and we never sell it.

How we filter spam

To tell people from automated spam, the quote form checks that your browser ran the page's script and how long the form took to fill in. We also look up, on our own server, which country and network your IP address is registered to. This location is approximate (a country, never your address), and it is not sent to anyone.

A request that looks automated is not deleted: it is kept aside, and a member of our team reviews it by hand.

Cookies

This website doesn't use cookies to track you, to measure its audience or to show you ads.

Our About page shows a Google map. When the map loads, Google receives your IP address and handles it under its own privacy policy.

Who sees it

• Our sales team and the managers who answer quote requests.
• Microsoft, whose Microsoft 365 service hosts our team's mailboxes, and the email service that delivers the website's messages to them.
• IONOS, our hosting provider, which runs the servers this website and its data live on.
• Google, whose Google Drive stores our backups. They are encrypted on our server before they leave it, so Google cannot read them.

These providers handle the information only on our behalf and under our instructions.

Where it is stored

Your information is stored on our hosting provider's servers, and our providers may store or process it outside Quebec and outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it is subject to local law. Before entrusting it to them, we assessed that it remains adequately protected.

How long we keep it

• Quote requests: as long as we need them to answer you and follow up. We review them regularly and delete the ones we no longer need, or sooner if you ask us to; a deleted request is gone for good within 90 days.
• If you become a customer: your contact details stay in our customer records for as long as we do business together.
• Requests set aside as spam: deleted automatically after 30 days, unless a member of our team has found them genuine before then.
• Server logs: deleted automatically after at most 60 days.
• Page speed measurements: deleted automatically after 28 days.
• Backups: kept for two years. Information we delete disappears from them as the older backups expire.

How we protect it

This website only accepts encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Quote requests can only be seen by authorized staff, each signing in with their own account. Our backups are encrypted.

Your rights

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent to its use. Write to us at the address at the end of this page; we answer within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
